Program Associate

The Program Associate works closely with students in an intensive mentoring capacity, assumes responsibility for significant program elements, and manages a variety of general administrative duties.

Essential Functions

  • Talk with and mentor students on a weekly basis to build supportive, caring, and authentic relationships.
  • Outreach to teachers, counselors, and other referral partners.
  • Liaise with summer partners and place students with experiential education programs.
  • Assist with data collection and documentation for an evaluation and outcomes measurement.
  • Assist with event coordination.
  • Assist with general administrative duties including answering phones, processing mail, routing information, and filing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least two years of work experience after college strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Self-starter who is comfortable in a close-knit team-oriented setting
  • Flexibility and eagerness to learn and work on different tasks as needed
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with database operations
  • Bi-lingual English-Spanish a plus

Alumni Coordinator

We are looking for an energetic and motivated Alumni Coordinator to be part of our dynamic team.  This person will work closely with our growing alumni base, coordinate area alumni events, increase the number of alumni involved in programming, and manage a variety of administrative duties.  This position offers an exciting opportunity to help harness the untapped power of our alumni to shape the next phase of Summer Search’s local and national growth.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with other offices, national coordinators and the Bottom Line to provide services for alumni, including networking opportunities, educational and professional development resources, and emergency and enrichment scholarships
  • Maintain contact information and personal connections with the Summer Boston alumni base 
  • Coordinate and execute all alumni events, increasing alumni engagement
  • Manage the Career Advisory Network (CAN) program, including coordination of professional workshops, recruitment of professional volunteers, and matching alumni with CAN advisors
  • Liaison with board members, internship partners, and alumni to place alumni in summer internships
  • Develop and maintain internship partnerships
  • Responsible for alumni communications including alumni newsletter
  • Initiate new programming to expand alumni resources
  • Recruit alumni for general Summer Search events and other opportunities to give back to current Summer Search students

  • Interest in making a 2-4 year commitment
