Summer Search is looking for a miracle!

We have an exciting opportunity to raise a significant amount of money for Summer Search on one day this year: Wednesday, December 5, 2007. But we need your help to do it!

On the first Wednesday of every December - CIBC World Markets Miracle Day - CIBC donates an amount equal to 95% of all net trade-generated fees and commissions to support young people with needs. A CIBC tradition, Miracle Day has raised more than $100 million for children’s charities since 1984.

We are grateful to CIBC World Markets for the donation of $25,000 raised through Miracle Day 2006 and to the following firms that participated by designating their trades to Summer Search:

How Does Miracle Day Work?

When a firm’s traders or fund managers execute trades through CIBC on this one day - December 5, 2007 – they need to mention that they are designating their trades to Summer Search. CIBC World Markets will donate half of their fees and commissions from that trade to us and the other half will go into the general pool of all nominated organizations. The beauty of this event is that the individual firms will not be charged an extra dime; they can help Summer Search serve more students by doing exactly what they would already be doing that day, executing trades.

How Can I Help?

If you have an association with institutional investment firms or hedge fund that is a client of CIBC or if you know someone who does, you can make miracles for Summer Search’s deserving students:

1. Help connect us to firms, like the ones above, that will agree to designate their Miracle Day trades to Summer Search. The more firms who agree to sign on now, the more funds we will raise from this event.

2. When firms execute their trades with CIBC on December 5, it is critical that the trading desk mention to the CIBC representative that they are “Trading for Summer Search.” CIBC will allocate half of their commissions from that trade to the specific charity that the firm designates. If the firm doesn’t mention Summer Search, the fees generated will go into the general pool.

Summer Search will direct all Miracle Day funds received directly towards helping Summer Search grow to serve more dynamic, low-income young people who are breaking the cycle of poverty and becoming positive leaders for others.
