The Associate Board (AB) is a group of professionals who are committed to supporting Summer Search NYC's life changing work. Through advocacy, volunteering, and fundraising, this dynamic group helps Summer Search advance the lives of local high school students so they graduate from college ready to successfully enter the workforce and become leaders in our communities. Members of the Associate Board engage and inspire their networks to take action on behalf of New York City's most underserved students.

Associate Board members contribute to Summer Search's much needed work by enhancing our network and advocating on behalf of our remarkable students. Throughout the year, the group meets once a month and volunteer their time and talent in three main areas:
Advocacy and Fundraising - AB members are go getters. They run, spin, and party to raise awareness and much needed funds for Summer Search. Every year, AB fundraising events generate more than $100,000 for our program. Their efforts support one year of programming for more than a dozen students!
Student Engagement - AB members care about the youth that we serve. They help connect students to internship opportunities and expose them to diverse career opportunities and workplace environments.
The Annual Soirée - Every fall, the AB hosts a party called the Summer Search Soirée. This year's event brought more than 250 people together and raised more than $85,000 for our path altering program. AB members promote ticket sales and help secure sponsorships as well as silent auction items.
Since 2004, the Associate Board has raised more than $1 million in support of Summer Search NYC's students, alumni, and program.

why join?

Johnathan Pruzan

"If you live and work in the NYC area, the Associate Board is a way to invest in your own community. There are so many on-ramps in our lives that we take for granted, and realizing that these pathways are hidden for kids who live 3 miles from your front door is a great motivator to help an organization like Summer Search which is working so effectively to level the playing field." - Diana Marko, Associate Board Member since 2010
